To those who are still considering Mr. Obama a good choice to lead our nation, and especially to those in the Black community who’ve been enamored of Reverend Wright’s teachings, I ask you to take a long, hard look at these two men. Get beyond their rhetoric.
If the Reverend and Senator hoped that Mr. Obama’s candidacy would raise the awareness of the plight of Black America in ’08 and reveal to White America its sins against them, they’ve failed miserably. Instead, they’ve revealed their own sins. And it is not a pretty picture.
These are two men who have manipulated the Black community for their own personal and political gain for years. And now they hope to manipulate the White community for further gain. In the case of Blacks, they have encouraged anger and resentment. In the case of Whites, they hope to instill a sense of guilt.
If Blacks don’t trust any White man, and look to their own for leadership, I suggest listening to Bill Cosby for starters. Ward Connerly and Thomas Sowell are men of wisdom as well. These, and many others, are not men who will manipulate you with lies and deception. They have your best interests at heart – not their own.
