Ed Wallis, I never said that I spoke for you. But I did say that my sentiments, and the sentiments of many other people, clearly indicate that there is still a problem.
Pat responses like “get over it” don’t help. The whole point is that so many people AREN’T over it. And it’s not just black people or minorities who find the “get over it” attitude to be offensive.
You can shout from the rooftops that things are better now, but it doesn’t mean that things are right. America needs to do some healing. Sticking your head in the sand and saying, “la, la, la” won’t make the problems that exist go away.
