I think your expressed point of view is at least implicity drawn from the First Amendment. As a Catholic institution Notre Dame is under obligation to bring speakers to Campus for important functions like Commencement who support and reinforce Catholic teaching and values. There may be a place in sectarian institution to invite an any time, any place, any age supporter of abortion to debate the issue but graduation is not one of them. It is like inviting David Duke to speak at the Howard University Commencement solely to make sure a wide range of views were heard.
