She is 28 years old, a Stanford grad and a hedge fund employee, not a babe in the woods. We are entitled to ask her if her mother lost credibility in the Monica Lewinsky affair. Recall that when the Lewinsky affair broke, she admitted in the first interview (the same interview in which she complained of the “vast right-wing conspiracy”) that the allegations were serious if true, and that he should resign if they were true. We know now that she had plenty of good reason to believe they were not true.
Under those circumstances the question is fairly asked whether her defense — which was, characteristically, an attack — damaged her credibility.
