The key mistake the Americans made when involving themselves in the primitive tribal middle east, was in underestimating how easily tribal Muslims can be inflamed to senseless hatred and violence. Tribal Muslims never miss an opportunity to shoot themselves in the foot, nor do they miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity to accomplish something good.
