I have to say I have been favorably impressed by Cheney lately. He really is (as Murph in #102 put it) a man among boys these days.

However (and please don’t dismiss me as a troll… I promise I’m not… I really truly would like to hear your thoughts on this. Dismiss me as someone who wasn’t paying close attention and doing research when the accusations were being made during the Bush administration if you must… but don’t dismiss me a troll, please) what about the no-bid contracts? How do we justify that? It’s not that Halliburton got multi-billion dollar contracts from the US government that bothers me… maybe they were the best man for the job… it’s the no-bid thing that gets me. How do we know if they were the best man for the job if there was no bidding process?

If you don’t feel like answering because you think this is a tired old question, I understand. I am asking in an honest attempt to get some clarity on something that has been bothering me.
