It is the Bill of Rights that is the only bastion against the arrogance of local officials run amok. The Kelo case tore a hole in that bastion, but (with the exception of New London, Conn) many local and state governments responded with patches through passage of tighter restrictions on eminent domain.
I hope that the liberal members of our Supreme Court have been cowed by the public response to their attempt to legislate from the bench.
