Where has “reaching across the aisle” gotten the GOP? Gang of 14 compromises that depressed the Republican base (resulting in lost Senate and House seats) and got fewer judges confirmed than should have been. Maybe if the Republicans had more junkyard dogs in Washington, they’d still be the majority party. Memo to the GOP: next time you regain the House and Senate, DO SOMETHING; don’t just sit on your lead.
