Great ideas. It would be nice if a few of the left-wing campus ayatollahs *occasionally* had something unfortunate happen to their cars or their dorm rooms, just as these things happen to conservative students.
Should we be above these things? Yes. Can we afford to be above them? No. The result is we end up being played as patsies, abused, and the boldness of the enemy is seen by the unaligned as more attractive and a safer position than our weakness.
I hate to write or even think in these terms, but the same principle could improve race relations in the US. A white man who visited a black neighborhood to violently prey on the residents would probably not make it out alive. It doesn’t work the other way around- a black predator who preys on whites will be greeted with fear and need fear nothing himself until both when and if the police show up. I would not want lynch mobs and Klansmen to ever again be features of American life, but if middle-class whites acquired a reputation for being willing to dispense a little street justice occasionally we would surely experience less victimization.
