I agree with Big Boy. I witnessed this up close and personal. Not only property values, but concerns about their children attending school with non-white children. Can’t have that. My theory is, white liberals fear and dislike Black Americans, but they want to consider themselves free of prejudice. This is a volatile emotional mix. A vote for Obama is redemption for white guilt, and they are off the hook! Just like support for affirmative action absolves them of abandoning integrated schools. If I were Obama, I’d be very fearful of such support. It will come with a huge pricetag. If they ever conclude that his presidency is a threat to their property, power and privilege, they will go after him tooth and nail.
