Should McCain Be Comparing Himself to Churchill and Teddy Roosevelt?

Churchill okayed strategic area bombing of cities, decimating civilian populations … because that is what war requires. McCain won’t allow water to be poured over the faces of suspected, or even known, terrorists in order to extract information. I don’t see the parallel. I see the perpendicular.
