#77 — Moderate Republicans are Democrat-lite. Why vote for a fake Democrat in a Moderate Republican when you can have a real Democrat? This is why McCain lost among other reasons.
The difference between “moderate” republicans and what people here call “conservatives” is almost entirely the social dictating. Lose the gay marriage and abortion stupidity and ALL republicans and conservatives are 100% on the same page. Lose the social issues and you outnumber the left. “Moderate” republicans are only moderate vis a vis social issues.
Interestingly, almost everyone knows this except for the diehard far right types. Certainly the left knows it. This is THE big reason the left takes great pains via the media to continually paint all republicans as reactionary Rush listeners, that ALL republicans are homophobic born again would-be abortion clinic bombers.
The stuff you type indicates one thing and one thing only, and that’s that the lefty news feed owns your thoughts by feeding you what you think you want to hear. Social conservatives in reality are a parasitic fringe group that doesn’t represent the majority of the republican party, much less the majority of the country. (Who do you think coined the term RINO, anyway? The rank and file? No, it was one of those family values buffoons after a midnight tryst with a gay prostitute. They have to keep hold of the reins somehow!) Rid the party of nothing more than gay marriage and abortion and 65% of the country easily votes republican. There is NOTHING leftist about moderate republicans.
