NAFTA has or may have helped the large business and countries , that
is countries with capital. OtherwiseDr. Milton Freidman was right
about free trade , but now the question is at who’s expense?
Small business , farming , trucking
and many small business owners are now in Mexico along with the ole fat cats.
People are losing jobs , business
in smaller towns 200,000 and less
that were once pregnent with possibility hav left to be replaced by chain after chain (wal mart etc ).
What is a small business, now that is hard to define. Is it the number of employees , gross profits , and
exactely who defines what is small business.
There are alot of different opinions
and i have mine. i contract for a
Los Angles company who provides
services in the state capitofor
small business and believe it or
not in California 75% of the state gross is from business with an
an average of ( i will use ) ten ( 10 ) or fewer employees. And those are the businesseople i have worked with in California for over thirty four ( 34 ) years for and with.
i realize times change and they seem to be coing that change faster
now than ever. More haves more have not’s , fewer middle class ( blue
collar workers ) and NAFTA has played a great role in this decline.
It is not just the recession ( yes we have one now ) not unions but our
government which is funded and run by big business. i know this is a broken record , however use the freedom of information act and see who gets what monies from big business , each of the two main parties and the big companies hire
those who lobby for them to keep watch over their voting.
i could go on and on , however i think i have made a point and i realy do not think even changing NAFTA can help now it is too late in the game , but such is life.
good luck i read your stories every day
Barry
