It isn’t about cheering or not cheering it is about being aware of the demographic shifts that are taking place and responding to them so that you survive (as opposed to burying your head in the sand and doing business as usual). Meghan McCain seems to understand this despite her youth. One thing that I didn’t mention in my comment #65, is the fact that caucasians are not reproducing as much as the other above mentioned groups. As a voting base, whites are shrinking not expanding. You can only go to that well so many times before it runs dry. Again, this is a fact. The country is becoming browner, if you will. So, what do republicans and conservatives do to respond to this? They go to “teabagging” rallies with a bunch of old white people and preach to the choir. I know, I know, you’re going to say there was diversity there. With the exception of a few here and there, however, it was by and large a white gathering. No one denies this.
