I completely agree. Corporations put a great deal of focus on the wrong kind of diversity, for the sake of political correctness.
Individual diversity is beneficial, because it provides a variety of perspectives and experiences on which to draw when solving a problem. Attempts to enforce categorical diversity have the potential to do more harm than good, both to the employers and to individual members of the targeted categories.
