Michael B & Oscar the Grump:
In reference to claim of anti-Jesus/Christian sentiments in the Talmud;
I have not read the book in question but some things are clear.
(1) Neither talmud contains any statements that speak directly about Jesus or Christianity. The book contains a collection of verses from the Talmud and other Jewish period writings that closely resemble parts of the New Testament while at the same time refuting it.
(2) The book claims (quite correctly) that the Jewish leadership of the time considered the notion of the Tanach (Old Testament) being superseded to be nonsense.
(3) The author himself does not consider the book to be a scholarly treatise, but only a kind of extensive essay
(4) The book is not about modern Jewish-Christian relations but rather about the debates/relations that took place when Christianity was in its infancy.
