For the person asking about flags – you might try http://www.texasflagman.com/catalog/ – they have the Gadsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag. I didn’t see the 13 star American flag there – but I would bet that wouldn’t be too hard to find on the ‘net.
I heard that Longview had about 1,000 not 650 – but it was hard for me to really tell because it was certainly a bigger crowd than they had estimated (they were hoping for at least 350 is my understanding). I was there and it was great (I was fortunate to be in the middle of a week of vacation – couldn’t have made it otherwise). Very polite people, polite but firm messages on the signs, and I heard as much anti-Congress talk and griping about judges who legislate from the bench as I heard anti-Obama – actually probably heard more anti-Congress than anything.
I was gearing up for this tea party before I even knew Fox was going to cover it. Frankly, as long as the local tea parties were covered by local outlets that’s really all you needed. No one from national MSM was going to come to Longview, TX to cover us – we’re just not big enough for them – but we had good coverage from local radio and television and that will get the attention of those who might be able to make the July 4th tea parties. With it being a holiday and a Saturday to boot you’ll find a lot more people coming out. I know they are going to plan for a larger venue to accomodate the larger crowd they’re expecting.
