The best thing this grassroots uprising can do is organize for electoral success and purge the current GOP leadership from bottom on up. We can forget about changing the Democratic party or starting a third party which would be absolute suicide come 2010 and 2012.
It is time for the rational, conservative base that came out last week to take back the GOP and we need to reach out to Democrats and Independents who share our ire for the continual status quo in Washington to help us make it happen. We all need to accept that another Reaganesque candidate is not coming down the pike any time soon and it is now up to us — as it always has been up to us — to finish building that shining city on a hill.
