Any politician or political party that promotes nationalism over individualism, or promotes the reduction of freedoms of the individual… are acting in a fascist manner. While most people consider the Gipper a conservative, some of his actions were fascist… like the War on Drugs, for example. Anytime a politician turns to legislation to ‘fix’ social issues, they risk a step toward fascism, be it forcing carbon emission standards, or throwing sick people in prison for smoking Pot (or defining the word Marriage, or demanding that X be taught (or not taught) in schools) or any of a myriad of other issues that both major parties think important that its worth limiting freedom through legislation.
