Obama drew over 200,000 on one night in Denver. People who came to his events were interested in hearing new ideas and how he planned on changing the direction of the country. Looserpalooza, by contrast, was a bunch of zealots using the issues of taxation and spending as vehicles for their veiled racism against our new president. The signs say it all. They were preaching to the choir, if you will. None of the people who attended these “teabagging” events voted for Obama or the Democratic agenda. The only way they can express their frustration is by attending these ridiculous carnivals. This is going to be a rough eight years for the “teabaggers.” Electorally it may be even longer. Can’t win elections with old white men alone anymore.
