Absolutely none. We’ve been hearing “Over, hell!” for so damn long that I would love to see you all finally leave – it’s been 150 years of that nonsense, so go ahead, get cracking. Then you can have zero taxation, no government interference, and zero gun control – kind of like Somalia.
One other irony is that you hold up California as the ultimate expression of what Texas is not and doesn’t ever want to be and psyche yourselves up by saying just how goshdarn awesome the independent country of Texas would be – when the reality is that if California was it’s own sovereign nation, it would have the 7th largest economy in the world. Yes, even with godless San Francisco. Meanwhile you have the highest rate of uninsured children (1 in 5) and among the highest rates in the country of illiteracy, violent crime, and teenage pregnancies. I’d be happy to provide sources for all of that, btw.
My larger point was how petulant and childish it is to start talking about secession only 100 days after your party is VOTED out of power. Do you or do you not believe in democracy?
