Ok, so some stupid Aussie womens’ magazine which makes its sales on royal gossip couldn’t rub two cells together after the Iraq posting debacle and published their ‘exclusive’ on their website a month ago. But it didnt leak past that (the magazine is New Idea, which should be changed to No Idea and has strong ownership affiliations and cross promotional yada yadas with the top rating national TV broadcaster here; which makes me think there are elements of positioning for some one upmanship in the Aussie media wars down in all this).
And there was also some leak in some German paper which went nowhere.
Meaning, enough people put two and two together to shut up. Until Drudge.
God, if America is our (Aussies’) best ally and all Americans were as concerned for our boys’ safety as Drudge is for the U.S.’s British allies much less a royal, I’d be voting for an end to the alliance.
