What is the false dichotomy? Either you have children because of the pleasure you expect to obtain raising them or you have them out of duty (God wants us to “be fruitful and multiple”) or you have children accidently through carelessness.
And there are children in Galt’s Gulch. Rand simply chose not to have children herself. It does not mean that she was somehow against having children as such.
