Sharia through the back door?
At least three times a week, every winter, I go to the community center to swim. This year, I got quite a surprise. I am not sure about other pools in Ontario, but the pool here in Mississauga it left me speechless.
There on the schedule were segregation hours for boys and girls with the note, “windows covered”. Of course, the leaflet does not say that this policy was created for our Muslim community.
When I immigrated to this great country in the late sixties, there wasn’t a different policy for immigrants. We all tried to blend with Canadian customs.
My questions are: Why we do segregate the Muslim community? Is it because they put the pressure on City Hall? Who is responsible?
Everybody I talked to had very negative responses. The decision (to allow segregation) is fueling real hatred. As an equal citizen, I demand to have some pool hours open to our naturalist community, so we may equally enjoy the rights as Muslims do and swim nude . Please “windows not covered”.
