I’m willing to assume that the transaction was entirely legal, involved no permanent transfer of wealth from Rezko to the Obama’s, and was fairly minor as political favors go.
But granting all that doesn’t help Obama in the least.
There’s still the jarring incongruity that Obama and his wife, who claim that they “passed up the corporate lifestyle” and accepted reduced incomes because they wanted to “serve the public,” had a slumlord help them buy a mansion.
