You have to understand further that the actual numbers are meaningless. It is the reporting that matters.

Since 2001 the Democrats and their associates in the press have been reporting that the economy is on its last legs. They have been doing this regardless of what the numbers show.

Upon the election of a Democrat, all the bad news will turn around. The actual performance of the economy doesn’t really matter. It is a matter of which party is in power.

To the extent that the number do matter, the Democrats have had a habit of jiggering the numbers. If they can’t change the numbers, they change the way the numbers are counted. This is always sold as an “improvement” which will give a better picture of the “real” economy.

And Christine; I don’t remember a lot of concern from Ohio when the Feds gutted the timber industry in Oregon, which resulted in massive job losses. Why should we be concerned about manufacturing jobs in Ohio?
