Elizabeth, I love your writing, but, on this, I have to respectfully disagree. As other posters here have pointed out, this isn’t a question-and-answer session, or one where there will be freedom of exchange. Obama will speak, the audience will listen, and be expected to applaud at the end. No one will ask any questions. If they do, they’ll probably be hustled out.
Furthermore, inviting someone as pro-abortion as Obama to speak at a Catholic college indicates that the Catholic administration there doesn’t feel that the church’s teachings on the sanctity of life are especially important, or need be obeyed. This is setting a bad example to Catholics in general, not to mention scandal.
