Perhaps if the bishops and pastors had been teaching for the last 40 years we wouldn’t be in this situation.
While I don’t support a loud and angry demonstration, to avoid expressing disapproval over this travesty will only cause the pro-abortion side to claim endorsement by a Catholic institution and marginalize those in the pro-life movement.
I will be very surprised if President Obama is conciliatory. I instead imagine he will defend his views with vigor, including lots of sob stories, and he will insinuate that those who don’t agree with him really don’t care about the poor.
