I am perfectly serious. People become the person you treat them as. Not 100%, but enough so it is a good strategy for interaction.
The zero-sum model for marriage doesn’t work. A couple can become more than the sum of their single personas.
I am unashamedly male. I am definitely not a metro-sexual. Nor am I groveling at the alter of feminist politics. I managed to get a brilliant woman to support me while I stayed home with my children. I am now pursuing my dreams.
Let her know she is loved, respected, and appreciated and she’ll put up with almost anything. If you support her being unreasonable, she’ll support you being unreasonable. Isn’t getting what you want more important than winning a battle neither of you wants to fight?
