Actually, John Anderson made little if any difference in the outcome of the 1980 elections. As for Ross Perot, he actually saved Daddy Bush and the Repubs of ’92 a fearful trouncing. Perot took votes away from Slick Willie, not Bush 41. Anderson’s people would have probably split 50-50 between Reagan and the Peanut Man, ensuring that the latter would have still been zonked royally.
