ABC is notorious for this kind of thing. Frequently they take sides in an issue, then join hands with the stooges on the side they’ve joined, and call it journalism. See: ABC in cahoots with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union in a staged attack on Food Lion Stores a few years back.
