Notice I never referred to church bells in the first place. It was you who brought this incredible comparison. The US has had freedom of religion since its foundation, your Europe has had its share of Fouches, Robespierres, Napoleons, Mussolinis, Pavelics, Hitlers, Francos, and other crazies.
Church bells also toll here, but, differently from India, the US is a country of laws, and there are “noise ordinances”, for here in MiamA, after 11 PM, and all through the night, no disturbing noise is allowed, such as church bells and crazy Muezzins, and when you call the police, they come within minutes. As per “Europe” it all depends on the area. Go to Albania and Bosnia and you will see.
