If war in the Middle East broke out, or even if there were an “Arab spring” in Saudi Arabia, gasoline prices would skyrocket and people would ask questions like:
1. What is Obama doing to encourage petroleum development in the U.S.?
2. Was turning down the Keystone pipeline a good idea?
3. Why are the Canadians looking at building a pipeline to their west coast?
Obama doesn’t want any of these questions asked, not when Americans are sitting in line to buy gas and wondering who to vote for.
