According to Gallup [see sidebar at Instapundit] 0 is a lock in ten states plus DC – DC, HI, MD, MA, CN, MY, VT, DE, NJ, IL, and CA. That amounts to 159 electoral votes. The “battle ground” will be the following states with 149 electoral votes: OR, NM, WI, IA, MS, FL, GA, NC, VA, OH, PA, and ME. These states give 0 an approval rate between 43% and 48%. The remainder of the nation will likely go for the GOP candidate since they give 0 an approval rating at or below 42% and 227 electoral votes. With 270 electoral votes required for a win, it looks like 0 pretty much has to run the battle ground states to have a chance.
