Try and ignore the fact that Obama is black, is a liberal, is from the Democratic Party. Assume he is a Republican, and still had the same performance over the last 60 days. The left would be howling. Justifiably, I think the right would be howling too.
Worst start to a Presidency since Clinton 92.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he has had a lot on his plate-terror, financial crisis. But all he really had to do for the short term was keep the existing terror policies, let the generals run the war, leave the tax and spend liberal causes that he ran on to another day. He just needed to get in and take care of the financial situation. IF he would have done JUST that, he would have had a LOT of political capital to spend on other things.
If Obama takes care of the banks, (dinner), he woudl have had many many desserts (health care, gitmo, war, taking over 401k, higher taxes, etc). He blew his presidency in the first 100 days.
Thank goodness. Now if the Republicans can be credible and together for 2010, we can take back the House. Take back the Senate in 2012-and maybe the White House with it.
