Wahhabism or Salafism means reading the Quran facially and literally while following the examples from the life of Muhammed (Sunnah) found in ahadith. This is the reason we find the Islamic religion radicalizing all over the world and seemingly reasonable moderates unable to mount theological defenses against it.
Punting this problem back to “Wahabism” doesn’t help in reality because it’s just Quranic Islam. I’d hoped the Gitmo Five liberally quoting the Quran might jar a few noggins lose, but as usual nothing.
