Interesting how islam is blamed for these stupid attitudes. The tragedy is that religious attitudes about beating wives has only changed due to secular pressure in the form of laws, etc. Muslim countries that aren’t out -and-out theocracies have more “western” attitudes towards domestic abuse while those governed by religion don’t. It isn’t different anywhere in the world where religions are in charge. Imagine.
