Interesting piece, but sad to see Vickers succumbing to the knee jerk knock at Limbaugh. Does Vickers really think that there would be any tea parties without Rush and the other conservative talk show hosts articulating conservative values and principles? Does he think we learned about Ayn Rand in our left-leaning public schools? Does he think our “civics” teachers emphasized the Founders’ belief in a decentralized and small national government, with limited powers, or did they pimp for big government? For the last 30 years have the schools been encouraging individual responsibility and respect for individuality, or have they been propagandizing about multiculturalism and communitarianism?
Knocking what we learn from real conservatives will get Vickers invited to a lot of cocktail parties, but he is selling his soul and saying nice things about the tea parties does not buy it back.
