By far and away, the best advice that Mitt could get. Well said, Belladonna! If Mitt would take it … and adopt it as the real meat of what his life is meant to be, he would be changed man.
Therein lies the rub. What IS the real Mitt? Will he put on your excellent advice like a new suit … and another one tomorrow … and another?
You’ve crystallized my discomfort with Mitt perfectly. If he WERE the rough and tumble Mitt of last night, I’d be relieved … On the other hand, if he IS the changeable, adaptable, vanilla-man I’ve seen him be all along, I’d continue being worried, very worried indeed. In other words: How do I know that last night merely another new suit?
He might maintain this marvelous image for a debate, a state, a month or two, but for a year … for a term? I still have my doubts.
