I don’t know… I think that a stereotype does exist about blacks and food stamps, but the heroism of Newt in this instance is that he is showing that he is above that, knows better, and is trusting in people to realize the difference between racism, and poignance. I guess that is actually pretty novel in presidential elections.
People who want of themselves and others to be sensitive to stereotypes in society perpetuate stereotyping.
