This is the eternal problem of large special interest groups. The more members, the harder it is to organize. This is why radical fringe minorities wield power out of all proportion to their size. Their message is loud and consistent, their leaders recognizable, their movements cohesive. The Tea-Partyers need a strong, principled leader to keep them together and focused if they’re not to tire and flame out before they can effect change.
