So far I am putting my money on the Islamists. 70 years of self-repudiation of English history is now in the marrow of British society. They cannot speak of the own history or values without either a tongue in cheek or chin on breast. The Islamists are merely kicking down a rotten door. The media and academic crowds will not permit the emergence of a nationalism that allows the
Brits to feel something positive about being British.
The self-hatred felt by the British is a little more contained in the U.S. Our pragmatic streak blunts the
force of academic nonsense here, but not for want of
trying. How sad that we invent multi-culturalism so
that the majority culture must feel shame, and the
minority cultures are licensed to feel scorn.
