It was just too much to believe that science had advanced so much that they could predict the climate, when they couldn’t reliably predict the weather, beyond 72 hours. Who are they trying to kid? This gloom and doom stuff is useful for politicians who want to change political climates, not so much for the rest of us. I don’t have much in the way of a personal stake in our energy being supplied by coal, nuclear, and oil. But I sure have a huge stake in energy being reliable there via SOME means, and so do six billion others. Okay, let’s go cleaner and greener, but let’s keep the dirty stuff on tap, just in case. The dirty World economy in 2009 keeps six billion plus alive, The World ecomomy in clean 1750 would starve us all.
