radtop, Why do we need a government institution to “teach children how to live our lives productively?” Many government workers don’t even know how to do that. Once you do what your opponents have done, redefine what the public schools are for, you no longer have a firm argument, and have surrendered to those now using schools for their own purposes. Better to either fight for private competition in schools or alter curriculum so they do what they were intended to do: “to enable every man to judge for himself what will secure or endanger his freedom”
