I spent years trying to teach my mother the concept of “parenthood isn’t a popularity contest.” (my adult daughter respects me more because of seeing her friends parents wanting to be their children’s “friends”.)
The same can be said of adulthood. Currently, the children outnumber us, and they’ve elected toddlers with a penchant for tantrums when they don’t get their way. Time for a time out. (and for them to learn the difference between a “right” and a “priveledge”).
