Martin Schultz was the guy Berlusconi compared to Shultz of Hogan’s Heroes. It was a scandal because people thought the comparison hinged on being a Nazi, when in fact it was about being a laughing stock.
What makes this whole episode more ridiculous is that the biggest complainers are those favoring wealth distribution and foreign aid. Pocket change for the foreigners, anyone.
