How does this information square with Khamenei’s recent rebukes of President Ahmanutjob …er… Ahmadinejad? My own impression was that he was being chastised not for his radical views, thus indicating a decline in influence on the part of the Messianics, but for being a bumbler whose international ham-handedness and domestic bungling were endangering the mullah’s grip on power.
