Well good luck getting McCain elected without the base. Only one third of the base supports him, the other two thirds despise him.
While Romney may be late to the conservative latecomer, at least he doesn’t have eight years of stabbing Conservatives in the back.
Check out the conservative side of the blogosphere, there will be no activism across the board for McCain. A great many of us who donate and volunteer are going to sit this one out.
In a fifty/fifty nation, good luck winning without the base of the party.
