It should probably be put in to context that despite a rise of acts of violence Oslo is still one of the ten safest cities in the world. Norway is still one of the safest countries to be openly gay and this problem has to be viewed as, although serious, relatively minor.
Multiculturalism definitely has its downsides but assimilation takes time no matter how you do it. I feel the language in this article is a bit over the top, and the comments are blowing this problem out of proportion.
