Ordinarily, I distinguish between gays and other minorities on the grounds that homosexuality is a behavior and not a belief, race or ethnicity. In this case, however, I’m with Mr. Bawer– this isn’t merely anti-gay prejudice, it’s imposition of religious beliefs on unwilling people. Now, it’s the gays (and, of course, the Jews and the non-submissive women). We can’t afford to ignore this, because the gays might be first, but they certainly won’t be the last.
